BJ Weed
BJ was born in Maybrook NY where he attended Valley Central HS and started all 4 years for his HS team. He was all conference sophomore and Junior year and was all conference and all state his senior year. Inducted into Valley Central's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010. Received a scholarship to play at Jefferson Davis CC in Brewton Alabama. He was all conference as a freshman and junior college 2nd team all American his sophomore year. He was rewarded a scholarship to Division 1 Jacksonville University. BJ was named all conference his Junior year and lead the team hitting .383. BJ was drafted as an unsigned free agent with the Angels and played from 2003-2006. Finished his career playing independent ball in 2008. BJ went on to start his coaching career with the New England Firebirds from 2009-2012. He then joined the Academy Baseball program where he coached from 2013-2018. BJ became the Manchester Essex Head Baseball coach in 2015, the team won their first ever state championship in 2019 and BJ was awarded Division 4 Coach of the year. BJ is also the Wellness teacher at M.E. He is married with two kids and lives in Peabody.
