The best way to say it is.... the NPA is a program, not a lesson!

If you're interested in a pitching program based on health, science, and biomechanical studies... you found the right place.   Gardy O’Flynn and the NPA East staff can immediately identify biomechanical, functional strength, and mental/emotional issues, but correcting them takes a "program", not a "lesson".  A quality program should include training in biomechanics, functional strength development, mental/emotional management, and proper nutritional guidelines.  Without incorporating them all, you may be neglecting the weakest link in your athlete.

Training programs begin with an initial evaluation that may include a motion analysis, capacity testing, vector analysis, and a mental/emotional behavioral assessment.  It's important that our students teach us "who they are" and their player signatures, before we can properly teach them.

80% of the training program is "off the mound", with a focus on arm health and functional strength improvement. Most drills are cross-specific and designed to fix mechanical flaws and condition the athlete.

Why is the NPA the most trusted source in rotational athlete training?

Gardy OFlynn is the NPA East Area Director:  He was drafted by the Texas Rangers and was coached by Tom House and has 25 year relationship that has evolved into a collaboration focusing on pitching and QB development.

* The NPA is the only training program that is IRB (Institutional Review Board) Certified.

* 50+ years of evolving health first information and instruction

* 733 MLB pitchers, 71 NFL QB's, 1505 PGA/LPGA Golfers

* The NPA is the only pitching organization that all methods are 100% scientifically tested and defendable.

* NPA East does its own 3D analysis at Boston Children’s Hospitals (Micheli Center).

Why are we the best choice for Long Term Adaptive Learning?

* We master the information, re-learning every day with new studies

* We master instruction techniques based on our scientific studies

* We mentor our athletes in and out of training

* We make a difference in their life, on and off the field

What is the importance of working with NPA East?

* We teach all levels of the NPA Pitcher's Health and Performance Matrix Platform:  Biomechanics, Functional Strength, Nutrition, and Mental/Emotional Management

Testing and Evaluations

Can you imagine being diagnosed with a broken bone without an x-ray?  Well that's a lot what it is like when coaches try to diagnose mechanical flaws, functional strength weaknesses, speed threshold deficiencies, and mental/emotional tendencies without proper testing and evaluations.

Here are the NPA proprietary tests and evaluations:

2D Biomechanical Video Analysis

We will use a high speed camera to provide an accurate slow motion analysis of the athlete.  High speed cameras allow us to identify and measure the timing of an athlete’s kinematic sequence than can’t be seen by the human eye.  The analysis will clearly define between player signatures and biomechanical variables.  Knowing the difference is the key Player signatures are inherent and specific to an athlete. Biomechanics are the laws of physics applied to the human body, so they are constant and scientifically defendable for all rotational athlete movements.  Optimizing the efficiency of the key biomechanical variables provides optimal health and performance.

3D Biomechanical Video Analysis- Micheli Center/ Boston Children’s Hospital

.

We will analyze pitching mechanics from every angle to reveal mechanical flaws, inefficiencies, and other factors that increase your risk for injury and disrupt p*performance. The visit is 90 minutes and begins with an assessment of the pitcher’s strength and flexibility. After a proper warmup and stretch, a 3D analysis is then performed on the pitching mechanics using ground force plates and our Gold standard 10 camera system.

The Micheli Center Staff will offer 3D trainees evidence-based strategies to help reduce their personal risk of injury while enhancing their sports performance.

Point In Time Velocity Capacity

By using the data we collect from our proprietary testing, we can identify exactly an athlete’s current and potential velocity capacity. If an athlete is not currently reaching his/her capacity, we can identify and isolate which weak link is contributing to that failure.  This testing specifically addresses the functional strength component of velocity capacity.

Vector Management

By using the data we collect from you motion analysis, we will measure the direction and weight of energy vectors.  We will be able to identify good and bad efficiencies of how you transfer energy in a constant direction. This testing specifically identifies any loss in velocity and additional stresses on the body due to poor energy vectors.

The STAR Profile

The STAR Profile is a predictive behavioral and performance assessment, based on a complex psychometric instrument that is able to pinpoint behavioral characteristics and predict future behavior and performance.  This assessment is based on a class “C” psychometric instrument and is the only one of its type currently being used in professional sports.  It is also backed by over 50 years of research and over 1,000 articles in the professional literature.
