Charlie Bilton

Charlie Bilton started coaching with his father in 1964 at Saugus National Little League, by the time he was 17 he had his own major league team, and was the All-Star coach at age 18. Over 25 years at Saugus National, he coached the All- Stars 11 times, winning 3 District Titles and 2 Bi-District Titles. Charlie later coached Saugus Babe Ruth, both 13-15 and 16-18. In 1974 while coaching both Babe Ruth and Little League Charlie coahed the 13-15 year old team to a Massachusetts State Championship and the Championship game of the New England Regional in Newport, RI. Charlie moved up to 16-18 Division later for four years, winning the league title in his first year, and again took the All-Star team to a State Championship and to the New England Regionals. When Charlie returned to Little League, at Saugus American, his team the Indians, won the league Championship 7 out of 8 years.
