Gardy was a former pitcher in the Texas Rangers organization from 1993-1997 when he had the privilege of being coached by Tom House (National Pitching Association Founder). He has maintained the relationship with Tom and first became an NPA coach in 2008. Gardy founded Pitching Fix and is now an Area Director for the NPA overseeing coaches from Ontario to Pennsylvania. House refers to O’Flynn as his “right hand man on the East Coast.” The two have done several clinics together from Boston to Florida over the past 7 years. Gardy also co-founded QB ProForm with Ken Mastrole (Mastrole QB) with Ken and Tom he has been fortunate to help train NFL QB’s and MLB pitchers. He also oversees the 3D motion capture lab at the Micheli Center (Boston Children’s Hospital) in Waltham, Gardy is responsible for the analysis of efficiency for pitchers and quarterbacks.
Gardy has a Master’s Degree in Coaching Athletic Administration (MCAA) and is working on a second Masters in Biomechanics. His brother Dr. Hugh O’Flynn (M.S. Biomechanical Engineering/Harvard) is a prominent orthopedic surgeon (Sports Medicine North) in the area and often assists with NPA East screenings and clinics. Gardy and his wife Claire (both educators) have 4 children and reside in Ipswich, MA. Gardy has been a PE teacher for the past 18 years and coached 12 seasons of Varsity Baseball (2003-2014) and 5 years as varsity indoor track coach (2009-2013) at Ipswich High School. He has also held various assistant coaching positions as well.
